– We see that more and more computer attacks are carried out against companies, especially general managers. In our everyday digital life, such attacks hit very hard. It can actually break small and medium-sized companies, says Jørund H. Rytman, CEO of SMB Norge.

The benefit agreement means that the companies do not have to pay the ordinary start-up cost (NOK 9,990).

WHY AREN’T CONVENTIONAL E-MAILS SECURE?

The Norwegian Data Protection Authority writes on its web site: «Unencrypted e-mail does not go direct from sender to receiver, but via a number of various hubs before arriving at its destination. The communication may be monitored or analyzed ». This explains the reason why 91 % of all cyber attacks come through e-mails and why it is not permitted to send personal data.

Has your e-mail been leaked?

To carry out data thefts hacked or leaked passwords and e-mail addresses are often used. On the web page “Have I been Pwned”, you can check whether your user name and password have gone astray.

Number of cyber attacks trebled from 2019 to 2020!

NorSIS writes that the Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM) saw a trebling of serious incidents from 2019 to 2020, and characterizes this as an accelerated digital risk. According to NHO small businesses are more at risk than large ones.
1%
of all cyber attacks come through e-mails, according to Deloitte.
1%
of small businesses exposed to cyber attacks are forced to throw in the towel within half a year after the attack, writes NHO.
1%
of the enterprises exposed to ransomware virus in 2019 paid the demand. In spite of this, 50 % of them lost their data according to NorSIS.

WHY DOES SENSITIVE COMMUNICATION NEED TO BE ENCRYPTED?

You also have an obligation to inform you customers about the Personal Data Act. Violations may entail fines of up to 4% of your turnover.
